What is Acne?
Acne is referred to as clogged pores, pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads. There is also a type which is even deeper in the skin referred to as cysts or nodules by dermatologists. All acne seems to occur in common areas such as the face, neck, back, shoulders, chest and upper arms, and is common among dry skin just as it is among combination skin.
Acne affects mostly adolescents, but also can be found in adults whom have never had it as a teenager. The age groups for acne can range from age 12- to adults in their 40s. It does not matter what age people tend to get acne, it is very disturbing to the human psyche. Acne has caused humiliation, embarrassment, low self worth, inferiority, anger, and sadness. The worst thing about these feelings is that many people feel this way, and do not realize that something can be done 100% of the time.
Myths about Acne
There are myths which need to be cleared up first. The first myth is that acne stems from being unclean and having a dirty face; acne is not a result of too much oil or dirt.
