Effective for Oily Skin Treatment

There are many low-cost, effect oily skin treatment tips which we would love to share with you. These tips range from simple natural facial scrubs to lifestyle habits – and all are effective when followed over time. All of these steps are elements of proactive skin care which will leave your skin feeling soft and healthy.

Simple In-Home Remedies

Gently rub a mixture of one-half teaspoon of lime and cucumber juice which had been mixed together on your face. If your skin is excessively oily, mix in a few drops of eau de cologne. Leave it site for about 20 minutes, and then wash it off with water; a great time to do this is just before your shower or bath. This not only prevents oily skin but also cleans out the pores and prevents acne.

Everyone has make-up tips, and we have plenty ourselves. If you have noticed that your makeup turns “patchy” after you apply it, then there we have an oily skin treatment you will be interested in. To prevent the problem in isolated areas, you can just rub a little bit of cucumber on those areas before applying the makeup.  If your entire skin suffers, rub a mixture or lime juice and witch-hazel on your face, dry it completely, and apply your makeup. There are great tips for removing makeup in our article on oily skin care.

Oily Skin Treatment – The Effects of Diet

A diet rich in proteins and low in sugar, fluids and salt is beneficial for oily skin. You should eat lots of vegetables and fresh fruits, especially the deep green colors. Healthy blood brings vital nutrients to your skin – make sure you are getting a diet rich in vitamins and iron.

The vitamin B2 is especially important, as even the slightest deficiency can cause oily skin. Nutritional yeast, wheat germ and organ meats provide vitamins B5 and B2. Other good sources of vitamin B2 are whole grains, beans, and nuts. Buckwheat, black beans and whole rice are excellent to supply the body with iron and rejuvenate your skin.

Drink plenty of quality water, as this is one of the most essential and basic elements of your body. A well hydrated body will flush the toxins out of the skin naturally. Fats reduces the amount of water your body can absorb naturally, so reduce the amount of fat in your diet. Avoid animal fats and heat-processed vegetable oils. Avoid eating any oils that have been subjected to heat, use cold-pressed canola or olive oil only. Diet is extremely important for oily skin treatment, and you will notice some results in only a few weeks. Full results will occur over time, so it does require a permanent change.

Do not drink soft drinks or alcoholic beverages – these drinks will actually dehydrate your body. Avoid sugar, chocolate, and junk food, as they all limit your bodies ability to hydrate itself.

Change Your Lifestyle

One major aspect of oily skin treatment is your lifestyle. If you are a smoker, you now have another reason to stop. Smoking promotes enlargement of the pores and impairs the overall health of the skin. Also, make sure you get adequate sleep. The skin's cellular repair activity is at its optimum during this resting phase.

Take time to get a massage – a regular massage of the entire body stimulates blood circulation which rejuvenates the skin. Exercise regularly - this benefits skin as it boosts circulation and encourages blood flow. Regular exercise will nourish and cleanse your skin from within.
