Bronzer – The Secret to Sun-Kissed Beauty

There’s nothing more attractive than a nice tan. Some people even say a tan helps you look healthier, although your health is directly connected to how you treat your body, not how tan you are. Bronzer is a product that can give you a safe tan which looks great!

Where Did Bronzer Come From?

Bronzer was made-up in the last decade because consumers became aware of the very serious nature of skin cancer. Skin cancer has become more prevalent in our world due to too much sun tanning (this includes tanning beds), or on the job sun exposure. A lot of us know someone or know of someone who has developed skin cancer. This is why “fake tans” have been invented. You can find these products from your local bath and body shop, grocery store, online, or day spas.

At first these “fake tans” were not that great, they would turn your skin orange or something close to it. Consumers were not pleased with how the tanning products looked on them; so consumers demanded a bronzer that could produce a more natural tan. Now days, the tanning products have improved by leaps and bounds and have achieved a very natural look.

How Do I Apply Bronzer Tanning Products?

With bronzer tanning products it is best if you exfoliate off any dead skin in the shower before you attempt to use any bronzer. Then it is important to dry yourself well and moisturize your skin with body lotion, but don’t over do it. Many people have found by using the bronzer tanning product around their knees, elbows, and ankles have been difficult at best, because the bronzer tanning product left an unnatural excess of product build up, giving a much darker appearance than other areas of the body.

Another great way to use body lotions is to put extra moisturizer on those difficult areas, and the bronzer tanning product can’t absorb as well making your knees, elbows, and ankles as natural as the rest of your “fake tan.”  Use long smooth strokes as you apply your bronzer tanning product, by using long strokes it covers more area space for better coverage.

Another thing to keep in mind is that bronzer tanning products can stain your clothing. Make sure you are not wearing anything you wouldn’t want stained or don’t wear anything at all depending on how much or your body you intend to cover with the bronzer.

If applying bronzer tanning products yourself isn’t your cup of tea, then there is a solution for you. Day spas today can offer a spray on bronzer which can cover you quickly, and probably a lot more evenly when done by hand. This option is a bit more, but worth it if you need an instant tan. Basically, you go into a booth which contains sprayers with a bronzer tanning product that mists all over your exposed skin. Viola! You have a beautiful safe tan.

A Different Type of Bronzer

There is different type of bronzer which isn’t even liquid which can give you extra color with out the mess (bronzing powder). Bronzer also comes in powder where you can use it on your shoulders, cheeks, chest, or anywhere you want a sun kissed appearance. These bronzer powders last a long time and come in many different shades of tan. For make-up tips on how to apply this product, see someone who specializes in make-up to help you.
