The Secret to Using Blush
Blush is the easiest makeup to abuse – if you want to look like a clown, just put too much blush on your face, and you’re done! On the flip side, blush is also one of the most important aspects of make-up – properly applied it will raise your cheekbones and give you a elegant, beautiful appearance.
The Order of Make-up
When you put your face on in the morning, there are probably several items in your make-up bag. Before we get started on what is in your bag; for starters, you need to have a clean pallet to work with, so use your favorite cleanser and follow up with a good moisturizer. Once a week use facial scrubs to remove dead skin. Now, your face is ready to be a work of art.
- First you start with base which covers imperfections and evens out the skin tone. Make sure that you pick a color that flatters your coloring, because if it’s too light or dark you could stand out more than you would like to.
- Once you have applied your base, you lightly dust your face with a loose powder to help set the base and to prevent a shiny look.
- Then you start your eye make-up: eyeliner, eye-shadow, and mascara.
- Next, you apply your blush. Make sure you have the best color of blush or bronzer for your skin tone. As always, you will look better if you wear colors which compliment you, and not make you look like a clown.
- Finally apply your lipstick. Same rules apply with the pick of colors, as with the above.
Why Wear Blush Make-up?
Everyone has their own opinion of what make-up to use or not to use. However, the list above is just a general guideline of what most women wear today. Let’s talk about blush make-up though; blush is what highlights your face. Blush can make your cheeks glow with warmth or give you a cool refreshing look, and you don’t even need to wear base to achieve such radiance. That is what makes blush so wonderful; you can wear a little or a lot as long as it is appropriate for the occasion.
There are those of us who prefer not to wear base or much else at times, but blush is one sure way to help you look more alive; especially if you are in a hurry and don’t have 20-30 minutes to devote to all the make-up in your bag. Blush can even help keep you from looking washed out when you’re not feeling great, but at least you’ll look great. Mothers have to keep going even if they’re sick, so why look sick when all you need is a little bronzer or a little friendly blush. |
No Blush No Problem
Can’t wear make-up? No problem, when it comes to blush, you don’t even need a brush for this make-up tip! Are you ready? Ok, all you need to do is pinch your cheeks, yes, pinch your cheeks. This brings blood closer to the surface of the skin giving the appearance of blush. You don’t need to pinch very hard, because you don’t want to stretch your delicate skin. Note however, that if your skin is really dark, you probably won’t notice any blush like colors. This technique works best with fair complexions, but it never hurts to try, unless you pinch too hard.
